Where I Met My Family:
My mommy saw a picture of me online through Puppyfind.com, she says the minute she saw me she knew I was the one. She paid for me to fly in a cool VIP section of the airplane, it was kinda scary, but I had a brother coming to this area, so we flew together. She says my picture had me sleeping while all my other litter mates were jumping around being all crazy. I'm way more laid back though.
My First Day with Them:
I don't remember much of my first day, my daddy came to pick me up with my new Grandpa, of course I really had to go potty after that plane ride, but they were ready with a leash and collar. I slept on the car ride home, since they lived so far from the airport. My mommy was at work, but my daddy took me to see her anyway. I loved her too the minute I saw her, but was happy to go home and wait for her there, that way I'd be all settled in and ready.
Cool Tricks I Do:
Hmm, well my daddy tells me to roll over, and I do, sometimes I just lay there for maximum exposure--to make sure everyone saw me, and then wait till he comes to get me. He always does, and then picks me up and gives me lots of kisses.
I can also stand on my butt for long periods of time, at least 4 mintues, I'm very well balanced. It worries my mommy when I do this because of my long back, she's worried I'll hurt myself, but I'm so good at it. I don't know where I learned that, but I do it when I want extra attention, or when I want to be picked up.
Things I like:
My humans, my girlfriend Bella ( who's another adopted doxie), and Misha (another adopted doxie).--My mom's a real sucker for doxie's, she can't say no. I love chasing my ball, my humans always keep them on stock. Oh and squeaker toys--I'm crazy for squeaker toys. I love sleeping in my humans big bed. Its so warm. I love to snuggle with my mommy. I follow her everywhere she goes all over the house. Its my job to protect her, and I take it seriously. I also always follow my daddy to the kitchen though cause he eats the delicious stuff.
I don’t like:
Vegetables. --I'll never just run and grab something off the floor again. That was a hard lesson, sometimes my humans are just clumsy and drop things. It doesn't always mean its for me.-Me, my other doxie friends, and my humans all can't stand the thought of a puppy mill. My Dachshunds, everything about their breed, and everything about their individual personality's....Some day, I'd like to have more doxie's, because I love the ones I have now so much. My hubby loves them too. Someday I would like to be able to accommodate many more dachshunds, like have a dachshund farm. Where they just get to run and play and not have to worry about anything. We have occaisional litters once every 2 years or so, but we just had our females spayed, Misha is wonderful, and has a terrific personality, but we didn't feel she would be able to handle having a litter, and Bella has had 2 litters, and did wonderfully, we felt she should just live out the other 18 years (hopefully more) just hanging with us, watching tv, and just generally enjoying life as our pet. We fostered one dachshund for a couple of years, due to ill health of the owner, and his spouse was unable to handle it. But its all better, and Nuggett is now back with his family, happily playing with his friends.
I don’t like:
Hmm I can be so picky sometimes. Tops on my list is bad pet owners and liars, and anyone else who doesn't care for their pet.
