Where I Met My Family:
I was a stray in the neighborhood, Mom and her best friend found me and started taking care of me! Even though I'm a girl, mom named me Zero after the dog from The Nightmare Before Christmas. She loves that movie and wanted to name me something unique so it worked out perfect! Here's a drawing of Zero from the movie:
She and her friend kept me as a secret from their parents for a few days and I lived on Mom's friends' HUGE back porch, no one even noticed I was there! One day I got loose and was gone for a few days and no one could find me. Turns out the neighbor saw me and called the pound! I was so scared, it took a whole week for mom to get me out of there because the pound didn't want to give me up, they said I was mean! But it's all because when the warden came and found me, she picked me up and threw me into the van and it hurt me and scared me so I snapped at her, wouldn't you do the same thing? But the worst is over now, I'm happy at home with Mom. Her friend has five dogs to play with :)
My First Day with Them:
At first I was very scared and wouldn't let anyone near me. I was also very skinny, and hungry of course! After a few days I warmed up to mom and her friend and then we just played fetch and ran around the neighborhood causing trouble.
Cool Tricks I Do:
I do the usual tricks: sit, down, stay, etc. But I also know how to "back up" to get out of the way of the door and other things. I am very smart and mom has taught me to understand several sentences, and I learn more of them everyday. I'm also a good model for my Mom, she's a photographer!
Things I like:
Chasing squirrels, belly rubs, swimming in the pond, playing with my best friend Batman (a German Shorthair), being with other dogs and cats, playing fetch, and I love all of my toys. My first claim to fame was being featured on luvmutt.com on November 22nd, 2007. You can find my feature there through the history on the website.
I don’t like:
I don't like when I can't catch the squirrels, and I hate being on a leash.
I also hate when people abandon their animals. But I guess if the people that abandoned me hadn't done it, I would not have found my new home! But, that still doesn't make it okay. Us animals are a lifetime commitment, and are not disposable! I am just a lucky stray but many end up dying in shelters alone or wherever they were left behind. Please make sure you are able to take care of us before adding one of my kind to your family!
I am a photographer so of course I like photography, and I love animals. Dogs are my favorite animal and I love photographing them! I'm also a big fan of Tim Burton, as you can see I named Zero after one of his movie characters :)
I also love helping rescue animals! I work with a local rescue group called Stop the Suffering. (www.stopthesuffering.org)

I don’t like:
I don't like people that abuse and are cruel to animals, and I don't like the fact that alot of people judge Zero and think that she is a "mean dog" She loves children, other dogs, and even cats!
I do not like how people associate bad things with breeds like Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Dobermans, German Shepherds, and others. They can be just as loving as any other dog breed!
Also, I think it is very irresponsible when people let their animals run free and breed time and time again! Please spay or neuter your pet, it is the first step towards the ending of euthanization of pets in a shelter!
