I was hatched in an aviary in Langley, BC and my human companions had the good sense to make me part of their flock! My Mammy visited me twice before taking me home to the coop. The first time I saw her, I hardly had any feathers at all and was sitting with my clutch mates (brothers & sisters) in a little bed of wood chips. I still needed to grow more feathers, learn to walk on a perch, and be weaned onto solid food.

| My First Day with Them: |

I was 4.5 months old and had just mastered perch-walking and eating moist Monkey Chow. My human companions gave me a large and comfy cage, right in the middle of the coop...er, house... I could see everything! It was very exciting, but I fell asleep at 9:00, just like most every night in the 13+ years since! |

I talk a *lot*, I mimic my Pappy and my Mammy, plus all kinds of noises (telephone, microwave, oven, water dripping, etc.) and I sing too. My favorite song is "Old MacDonald" and I'll sing "E-I-E-I-O" at the right places if you sing the rest! I read minds... I'll say "bye-bye" long before you head to the door; I can tell when you're on your way out!
I imitate Pixl and his toys! I can make everyone run around the house, just by whining and squeaking like him and his toys (tee, hee, hee!). I make the sound of water dripping when I hear him; it reminds me of the sound he made the first night he was home -- lapping water from his dish. I make the whistle Mammy makes to call Pixl, but no-one's falling for that trick -- even Pixl knows it's me! |

Things I like: |
|
I *love* my toes. I think they're pretty, even though they look like snakeskin to most humans! I love my nice uninterrupted sleeps (at least 10 hours/night) and my room, cage, tree, perches and toys. I love my human companions -- Pappy is #1, Mammy is #2 in my pecking order. I also love bananas (not too ripe, please!) and cherries, but I don't get them often; they're treats. I *do* get lots of fresh veggies and special kibble I call "seeds" every day. I also get an almond in the shell every day; I call it a "chewy". I love my weekly shower and I really like being taken on tours of every room in the house, including the room where I get showered!!
I like Pixl, my dog brother. He's been with us since April, 2008 and I'm getting used to his antics. When he steps into my room or on the paper under my tree, I let out a funny squeal to let everyone know he's breaking the rules! Hahahaha!! |

Having to say "bye-bye" (it means someone's leaving for awhile), trips that end up at the vet's office and having my toe nails filed -- even though I know Mammy and Pappy have never hurt me in the process!Myspace Layouts |
