Spring is upawn us and the weather couldn’t be better for a Spring adventure! It’s been a while since our last contest, so we apologize for the delay and we promise this one will be a treat and some! For the contest, you may want to visit our EventsorPawkspage for contest ideas and locations!
The Prize
First, let’s talk about what’s on all of our minds—the prize! This month’s contest prize is a special one, because it’s benefiting a cause that’s close to all our hearts. Animal Haven Shelteris a no-kill animal shelter, adoption center and sanctuary dedicated to placing cats and dogs in loving homes, as well as give lifetime care for those who cannot be placed. We’ve partnered with them to offer you gifts from their unique boutique style shelter located in SoHo, New York. All proceeds and purchases from Animal Haven Shelter will go directly to benefiting and caring for the unfortunate pets that haven’t been adopted yet. The prize includes an assortment of cool items that’ll be useful for your cat or dog.
Contest Rules + Regulations
This month’s contest will be a little different from what we’ve done in the past. Not only will you be taking pictures of your adored pets, but you’ll have to write a little story to go along with the picture. Spring is the season to be outside and here at PetPop.com we want to promote it with this month’s contest. The rules are outlined below:
To enter the contest members will have to submit an outdoor picture, whether it’s in your backyard, front lawn or park, as long as it’s outside it will qualify. The picture will have to be approved by our moderators before it gets posted on the contest page. Typically, the photos will be approved within 24 hours of submission. Along with the outdoor picture, moderators will be looking for a little story attached with the photo. The “story” will be entirely up to you guys, you can get creative here and really describe what’s going on in the picture or have members use their imagination. The story must be 50-100 words, so we expect a little something, but nothing too serious. To help you better understand the contest, I’ve wrote a little story myself, check me out:
"As I sit here and wait for my Mommy to push me on my swingy. I wait patiently for her, but she is busy talking to her friends. I hope she didn’t forget about me here, because the sun is setting and I want my chance to fly in the sky. I’ve been waiting for this all day and I don’t think she knows how much it means to me. Or maybe if I were EVEN smaller, a gust of wind could do the pushing for me!"

Once again, the voting is up to you guys, but you’ll have to put in a little more effort, since you’ll have to judge our members’ photos and creative stories! Good luck and happy voting everyone!

The Story: Hi it's Emma! I haven't ventured out to any parks yet .. but hopefully soon I will go on some fun adventures. Meanwhile I do enjoy it in the backyard and I love picking up sticks and especially the pine cones that are scattered about. Mommy will toss them, and then I chase, and I don't give them back too easily! Just as much fun as chasing a toy ball. A toy from Mother Nature herself !!
The Story: I came to the Lake, I saw, I swam, I conquered. At the tender age of 13 weeks some might call me a puppy prodigy, destined to be an Olympic swimming champion. I won't disagree. I am Abigail, hear me BARK!
The Story: Why mom! Why put my toy all the way up in the tree, you know i can't jump that far. I stand howling at my toy hoping my howl will make my toy fall. I really want my toy. I only wished i had longer legs to get it. Hoping mommy comes back and gives me the toy so i won't keep howling here.

The Story: My story, my name is Senator my daddy named me , I like to grt ny goodys from grannys too then I wander the property looking for squirrels, thats my favorite passtime, I chase them up the trrees and dare them to come down, I do have a long wait they are getting wise to me now, once they come my brother has a mole ready for us to dig and the squirrel becomes history, and we have so much fun that after a while mommy puts a stop to it because we get very dirty, she likes us clean buuuuut we love the Spring

The Story: My story: My name is Buster and I love the outdoors, I can't wait for mommy to let me out as soon as daylight appears, I run to grannys and get my morning goody and then I must roll and roll on my back it feels so good on the cool morning grass I could do it all day but mommy won't let me, and thats really sad.
The Story: As I was on my daily stroll, I could not help but notice a family of birds. They looked so happy. I missed my sisters very much. I never knew my daddy, he ran away as soon as Mommy was pregnent(crazy eh?) So I knew I was going to be a better father someday.
Prize:
An assortment of pet items purchased from Animal Haven Shelter. Depending on what type of pet wins, the items will be catered to the winner of the “My Spring Adventure” contest. All proceeds used to purchase the prize will go to helping Animal Haven Shelter carefully place cats and dogs in loving homes, as well as give lifetime care for those who cannot be placed.
