Where I Met My Family:
I met my mommy when I was 9 weeks old because she saw my baby picture online. She saw that my front left paw was underdeveloped and that I needed a good home where someone would give me lots of love. At 2 I overdeveloped lots of allergies, but she still loves me more than anything - a dog just knows these things.
My First Day with Them:
On my first day, toys and food were already waiting for me! I sniffed the WHOLE PLACE down and then just took a long nap on the couch. I was wiped out from all the love an attention. I was given my first best friend, Stanley. I loved him so much, he fell to pieces, but I never lack for new toys. Or friends!
Cool Tricks I Do:
I am the best tail-chaser EVER. I can go for hours and hours, just chasing and chasing. I can also jump really high! I have very strong back legs and a mean right hook since I have to make up for my gimpy front left paw. Maybe I could be a boxer! Oh, and I taught myself to go pee-pee in the bathtub! I need to go there all the time because I drink tons and tons of water.
Things I like:
Firstly, I LOVE that we just moved to Brooklyn. It rules.
I like cuddling A LOT. And I love the new raw diet my mom put me on. I feel so much healthier! I love the water (from the faucet, from the ocean, doesn't matter - WATER WATER!) I also like my mom's friends. They like to play and cuddle with me, too!!! And even though I am BIG, they let me play with their teenie weenie dogs! Did I mention - I LOVE PIT BULL RESCUES?!!!
I don’t like:
I really really don't like LOUD NOISES (especially sudden ones) AT ALL. Construction, well, it just keeps me on edge. People who don't let their dogs play with me make me very very sad. One of my best friends is long-haired chihuahua and she LOVES me. But, MOST of all, I don't like it when my breed isn't respected. If they think I am a meany, they just don't know me. I am a MUSH. (But, don't tell anybody).
I most like going to the beach with Riley, since he loves the water so much. He is a blast to play with. We just moved back to Brooklyn, so I like taking him to the park - he's shaking off his Manhattan exterior! I also like cuddling with him and watching movies. Something that makes me feel very good is when I see Riley dispel myths about his breed. He has not only converted many who fear pit bulls into advocates for the breed, he has also turned a few NON-DOG lovers into Riley fans.
I don’t like:
In a word: Intolerance. I abhor when people disrespect animals of any kind, especially pit bulls. Wayne Dyer says: "The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don't know anything about". Riley is the sweetest dog I have ever met, so when he is misjudged simply for being a pit bull, I see true ignorance. Riley rules and that's that.
